Marketing & Design Intern

Internship ~ Clinton Hill, Brooklyn ~ 10hrs/wk ~ Duration: Jan-May 2025

About the Role
We’re seeking a creative, detail-oriented Marketing & Design Intern to support content creation, brand storytelling, and community engagement. This role is ideal for someone who loves visual design and social media.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating visual assets for social, email, and web (graphics, templates, reels, etc.)

  • Support management of social media calendars, posting schedules, and community interactions

  • Help design and refine marketing materials including flyers, event assets, and digital campaigns

  • Contribute ideas for brand growth, creative concepts, and storytelling

  • Assist with photography and/or videography at events

  • Support email marketing tasks in Flodesk

  • Maintain organization of digital assets and brand files

  • Collaborate on special projects such as seasonal launches or campaigns

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong interest in design, marketing, branding, or related fields

  • Basic knowledge of Canva & Adobe Creative Suite

  • Comfortable with social media platforms, especially instagram & TikTik

  • Good eye for aesthetics, composition, and storytelling

  • Organized, responsive, and self-directed

  • Strong written communication skills

  • Able to shoot photo + video content 

  • Available 10 hours/week for 4 months

Requirements

  • A portfolio of work 

  • The ability to work in person in Clinton Hill 

  • Some evening / weekend availability for content creation

Compensation

  • Course Credit 

  • Monthly credits towards RecCreate events

Seasonal Creative Event Host 

Contract | Jan-April | 5-20hrs /month | Clinton Hill, Brooklyn 

Craft season is upon us and we’re thrilled to be hiring a creative event host to support our winter programming. This role is seasonal, with the opportunity to grow into a permanent position depending on studio needs. 

About the Role
We’re looking for a warm, creative, people-centered host to support our seasonal events. This person will be the point of connection for our community — welcoming them in, facilitating our opening ceremony, and cheering them on throughout. This person will be an expert at cultivating belonging — creating safe spaces for connection and play. The seasonal creative event host will support our incredible team of facilitators and collaborators. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in event setup and teardown (materials, beverages, seating, ambiance)

  • Setting up + supporting the volunteer

  • Warmly welcoming guests into the space and making conversation

  • Facilitating the opening ceremony including a creative meditation, conversation prompt and studio notes

  • Support the creative activity: offering encouragement, answering questions, and making sure everyone has what they need

  • Support the facilitator and/or collaborator 

  • Manage check-in through Luma 

  • Problem solve as issues arise 

  • Support studio needs with downtime 

  • Exemplify a life filled with creativity + community 

Ideal Candidate

  • Has a personal creative practice 

  • Strongly values community 

  • High autonomy — can be self managed and directed 

  • Attention to detail — notices the little things

  • Learner — excited to learn our systems and execute them thoroughly 

  • Comfortable taking control of a space / group, strong public speaker  

  • Organized and dependable, with good time management

  • Able to lift/move materials up to 20 lbs

  • Interest in growing with RecCreate as opportunities present 

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of professional hospitality experience 

  • Will be present in NYC the majority of Jan-April with no extended trips 

  • Can work evenings and weekends in Clinton Hill 

Compensation + Benefits 

  • Hourly rate: $30

  • Expected hours per event: 4-8

  • Seasonal commitment: Jan-April 

  • Monthly credits towards RecCreate classes
